A short bio

Bridget Duckworth
Whistler, British Columbia, Canada
Bridget Duckworth was born in February 1933 in Winchester, England. She immigrated to Canada in 1955, as a first stop on the way around the world. She was interested in art from an early age, but only started painting watercolors seriously in 2006 after retiring from her profession as an occupational therapist at G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre in 1991. Her interest in photography has been helpful in her development as a painter. She took over 3000 photos to illustrate a book she co-wrote. Bridget has taken several courses at Whistler “Art on the Lake” and now hosts a small weekly painting group on Thursday evenings in Whistler with a bottle of wine and helpful critiques. Bridget paints from her imagination or from pictures she took herself. Her style and experience has already given her several private commissions for paintings.
